Seán Maguire was ordained a priest by Bishop Leo O'Reilly on Sunday 24th June in the Cathedral of Saints Patrick and Felim, Cavan.  It was a day of thanksgiving and joy for Seán, for his family and friends, and for the diocese of Kilmore.  The last ordination of a priest for the diocese of Kilmore took place in 2004.

Seán is a native of Carrickacromin in the parish of Laragh.  He attended primary school in Tunnyduff, post-primary school in Bailieborough and third level in St Patrick's College, Maynooth. 

On 29th May 2011 Seán was ordained a deacon for service in the diocese of Kilmore by Archbishop Diarmuid Martin.  More on the diaconate ceremony.
