Golden Jubilee celebrations to mark the Opening of St. Joseph’s Church, Ballyjamesduff

 

jub1-6On Sunday, 2nd October 2016, Bishop Leo O’Reilly was principal celebrant at a Mass to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of the building of St. Joseph’s Church, designed by Philip Cullivan and built by Patrick Doherty, which was  opened and dedicated in September 1966. The new church replaced an old church erected in 1834.

 Jim and Tom Brady, planted a tree in memory of their mother, Lily, who was a driving force behind the fundraising  for the new church.

Mrs. Brigid Shiels unveiled a memorial plaque to commemorate her brother Fr. James Duffy, who was instrumental in the building of St. Joseph’s Church in 1966.cullivan-plans
