There was further major alterations carried out in 1961 when Rev. John Donohue was parish priest and Rev. Edward Burns was curate. The transepts were removed and a new porch was built. Side porches were added in 1991 when Rev. Patsy Young was parish priest and Rev. Maurice McMorrow was curate. This was done in preparation for the Bicentennial Mass.
