The original church was a thatched chapel on Rogan’s land in the townland of Laughty. Tradition holds that it was burned to the ground by the Redcoats returning to Enniskillen after the battle of Ballinamuck. The present church was built in 1857 when John Rogan was parish priest. Extensive renovations were carried out in 1956 at a cost of £10,000. Further renovations were carried out in 1969 and 1978.
