The present Corick Church was built in 1863 by the then parish priest Very Rev. Patrick Smith and the architects were Messers Hague. The building was constructed and the seats made by the McGennis Family, Tullyvin. A member of that family was Dr. Ed. McGennis, Bishop of Kilmore (1888 – 1906).

By the 1990s as a result of weathering and dampness, Corick church was in a dilapidated condition. A committee was formed. John Tiernan was given the responsibility of planning and overseeing the work of restoration.

John Joe McCauley & Sons, local contractors, undertook the structural work and Martin O’Reilly carried out the painting and decorative stonework. The Tiernan family attended to the woodwork. The result was a beautifully restored St. Patrick’s of which all concerned are duly proud.

The renovated church was dedicated by Most Rev. F.J. MacKiernan, Bishop of Kilmore on 30th June 1996.
