On Friday evening, 25 April 2025, a concelebrated Diocesan Memorial Mass was celebrated in the Cathedral of Saints Patrick & Felim, Cavan for the happy repose of the soul of His Holiness Pope Francis R.I.P.
The principal celebrant was Bishop Martin Hayes whose homily on that occasion may be accessed at the following link:
In attendance were civic leaders, members of the different local faith communities and Catholic religious orders, including members of The Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem which is a Catholic Order of Knighthood under the protection of The Holy See with a mission to support The Church and Christian communities in the Holy Land, especially those within the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem. Representatives from various diocesan organisations were also present as were diocesan personnel and parishioners from across the Diocese of Kilmore.
There was also an opportunity for people to sign the Book of Condolences.
