MARRIAGE IN IRELAND – GIVING NOTICE OF INTENTION

All couples intending to marry in Ireland must give at least 3 months notice of intention to marry, in person, to a Registrar. This can be done by making an appointment to visit any of the local Civil Registration Offices.

Please note that if you wish to have a Religious Solemniser placed on the Register for your marriage, you should contact the Diocesan Office of the diocese in which you intend to marry.

Please note that after your marriage, the Marriage Registration Form should be returned to the same Civil Registration Office where you gave your notice of intention to marry.
