MESSAGE FROM BISHOP MARTIN HAYES

The Kilmore Diocesan Synodal Report, submitted to the National Synodal Task Group on 29 May 2022, is available to download at the link given below:

Kilmore Synodal Pathway Report (Web Version)

The report will be collated with forty other reports submitted in preparation for a National Pre-Synodal Assembly of Diocesan Delegates, Bishops, the National Synodal Steering and Task Groups to be held in Athlone on 18 June 2022.

Please note that this Kilmore Diocesan Synodal Report together with the National Synthesis will be the basis for our further reflection and participation in the National Synodal Pathway from next September onwards.

I would like to thank the members of our Diocesan Synodal Steering Committee for their commitment for coordinating our ‘conversations on our faith into the future’ in response to the invitation of Pope Francis to undertake a synodal journey.

I wish to acknowledge the involvement of priests and people through the Parish Pastoral Councils and interaction with the different Social Groups as well as all who participated in our Diocesan Pre-Synodal Assembly on 3 May 2022 in Ballyconnell.

We entrust our synodal journey to the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.

+ Martin Hayes

Bishop of Kilmore
