In 1843 a barn church was built at Kildallan. In 1860 a new nave, gallery, vestry and high altar were added. The present St. Dallan’s Church was dedicated by Bishop Francis MacKiernan on 4th May 1975. It is a Systems Built Church by Bannagher Tiles, Bannagher. The consultant architects were PN Shaffrey & Associates, Dublin. The builders were Sheridan Bros. Construction Ltd., Moyne.

The brief for the church dictated that the building be simple, economical and fitting to local needs. The church has seating accommodation for 250 people, none of whom are more than 35 feet from the altar.

It cost in the region of £35,000 and replaced an earlier church (alongside) which was renovated to become the present Kildallan Community Centre. The earlier church bell was restored and relocated as a Jubilee Year 2000 Project.
